Train to support vulnerable families with young children in Southwark. Free 7-day training course covering all aspects of family support starts on 9th February 2022

Home-Start Southwark volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to young families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis or breakdown.  Volunteers, who are parents or have parenting experience, understand that sometimes family life can be tough and that is why their support can be so valuable in helping another family.  Volunteers are central to the Home-Start service. They visit families for two hours per week for six months helping to build their confidence and indpendence, and in return they receive high quality preparation and ongoing training, supervision and support from Home-Start Coordinators. Anyone who has been a parent or carer of children under 5 is welcome to volunteer.

Our next Volunteer Preparation Course starts soon and will run once a week on a Wednesday for seven sessions (with a week off at half term)

Dates: 9 & 23 February, 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 March

Times: 10am to 2pm

Location: CAN-Mezzanine, 7-14 Great Dover Street, London SE1 4YR
