We invite PLANE HELL to join HACAN East campaigners and supporters to come to a picnic on Friday 28th July at Lincoln Fields, Holborn after we pay a quick visit to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). We will deliver them a special flightpath cake to remind them that we matter, as they draw up their response to London City Airport’s report on the concentrated flight paths (due for release in September). This is a good opportunity to put pressure on them, showing them that their decisions affect real people in many areas across east and south-east London.
We will highlight the blight that living under both Heathrow and City flight paths causes – and how widely that blight is spreading.
We would like each area affected by the flight paths to be represented on a cake, hopefully each made by one of you!
Could you bake a cake? And decorate it to show where you are from? Perhaps with a message on a flag, or iced with the name of your area?
Would you like to make a banner? We would love to involve children.
If you can’t bake but want to be there on the day we still want you there!
Our coordinator is Amina at HACAN East who can be contacted on info@hacaneast.org.uk. Or contact us at planehell@outlook.com.
Here are the details for the day:
We will meet outside the CAA offices at 4:15pm, pinpointed on the map. The address is 57-63 Kingsway, London WC2B 6TE. The closest tube station is Holborn on the Central and Piccadilly lines.
* DO bring any bunting/picnic mats you have and any banners/placards you’d like to make are also welcome. Messages like, “Into bake offs, not take offs” would be great… I think you can do better than this!
* This is a child friendly event so please do bring any young ones who would like to be part of a peaceful demo and some fun in the park afterwards! The more the merrier!
* As you can see, the CAA is just over the road from Lincoln’s Inn Fields. If you cannot make it for 4:30pm, please come and join us at Lincoln’s Inn Fields to eat some cake, strawberries and whatever else people would like to eat from 5pm. It’ll be a lovely opportunity to meet others campaigning across London and build the movement together.
Please get in touch with Amina at info@hacaneast.org.uk if you have any questions or would like to be there, but have some barriers to you getting there that we might be able to help you with!
Phone 07986476863 on the day if you are lost/need any information
