Myatt’s Fields Market – A new market in South London. Sundays 10am-2pm.

Would you like to buy fresh local food and help sustain the local economy at the same time?

Myatt’s Fields and the Loughborough Junction area is a food desert – an area with very few opportunities to experience good quality food. Myatt’s Fields Park Project and local organiser Stephanie Clive are collaborating to help solve this problem.

Myatt’s Fields Market aims to bring quality food to local people, and celebrate South London’s finest makers and traders. The market started on 20th May with a great turnout of customers supporting their local traders and producers.

Stalls include rare breed meats from Ladywell’s Heckstall and Smith, fresh fish from Streatham’s Fish Tale, Brockmans organic and biodynamic fruit and vegetables, cheese and charcuterie from London Smoke and Cure, brownie heaven from The South East Cakery, organic bread from The Old Post Office Bakery and Aston’s, delicious locally made West Indian food, handmade hot filled flatbreads from South London stalwarts Mike and Ollie, 100% vegan Indian fusion from local lads En Root, Lambeth-based craft producers, plants, pots, produce from local growing projects, and more!

We also have an eco-cleaning product refill station, with products from SESI that are biodegradable, non-toxic, vegan friendly and cheaper than branded products in the supermarket! Bring an empty bottle to reduce plastic in the local community!

The setting for the market is a beautiful Grade-II listed community-run park with a Victorian bandstand.

Across the summer the market’s offering will also include six new businesses who are given a free stall for a six-week period to help them get started with their business. These are offered to those living in Lambeth and on low income. Each free stall also receives business support during their tenure. There is currently one stall left on this scheme for this summer so email myattsfieldsmarket@gmail.com if you have an idea!
