(between junctions with Commercial Way & Peckham Park Road)
2pm – community exhibition on planning & regeneration across the borough.
3-5pm – hustings with main parties’ candidates and spokespersons.
AIMS OF THE EVENT
This is a hustings with a difference, where community perspectives on important planning and regeneration matters can be raised with politicians seeking election.
We all suffer from problems caused by the planning system, whether it’s the deficient consultation process, the loss of loved local places and spaces, or the impacts of regeneration. These never get addressed properly in the local elections we have every 4 years.
PUBLICITY
This hustings is aimed at helping to correct that democratic deficit. So please come, and also publicise it in your local networks, and local e-forums. A poster for printing and also for social media and emails is attached. Please circulate and encourage other people to come and support the community in this important new kind of hustings.
COMMUNITY EXHIBITION
There will be a community exhibition open from 2pm created by community groups from across the borough. So do come and see the displays about the planning and regeneration issues we all share.
PUTTING A QUESTION
To pose a question to the politicians at the event, please fill out and submit your question on this weblink: https://goo.gl/duZN7H. A representative choice will be selected from the suggestions. The format will be similar to that on BBC Question Time, so there will be opportunities for audience participation.
